The difference pediatric dentistry makes

We believe in starting children off right with pediatric dental care that’s not only effective but also engaging and reassuring. Our goal is to help kids build a positive relationship with their dental team so they feel empowered to take care of their teeth. When children look forward to their dental visits, it lays the foundation for lifelong healthy habits.

From their very first cleaning to milestones like losing baby teeth or getting their first filling, pediatric dentistry is there every step of the way. We’re proud to support your child’s smile as they grow, develop new teeth, and begin orthodontic journeys in their later years.

Why is children’s dental care so important?

It’s common to wonder why baby teeth matter if they’re just going to fall out, but early dental care plays a crucial role in overall health and development.

Poor dental health hurts

Children can experience tooth decay, gum disease, and oral infections just like adults. Without a reference point, kids may normalize pain or discomfort, but the impact is still real. If your child avoids certain foods, chews on one side only, or reacts to hot and cold items, it could be a sign of dental sensitivity.

Baby teeth set the stage for adult teeth

As baby teeth fall out, they guide the incoming adult teeth into place. If baby teeth are lost too early due to decay or damage, adult teeth may grow in crooked or crowded. Keeping those early teeth healthy ensures a smoother transition to a well aligned adult smile.

The cornerstone of confidence

Children learn how to smile, speak, and interact socially in their earliest years. Dental pain or cosmetic issues can affect how they express themselves or how they’re perceived by others. A healthy mouth gives them confidence to engage and connect.

Good eating habits for growing bodies

Picky eating can be challenging enough, but when dental pain is added to the mix, it often leads children to avoid certain foods entirely. They might avoid chewy or crunchy foods, eat only on one side of their mouth, or eat less overall. Addressing discomfort early encourages balanced, healthy eating.

Your child’s first appointment

From the moment your child arrives, our focus is on comfort, health, and positive communication. We understand that dental visits can be intimidating for young patients, so we speak in kid friendly terms and adjust our approach to match your child’s personality and needs.

If you’re looking for a family friendly Dental Office in Vancouver that specializes in pediatric care, our team is here to support every stage of your child’s dental development with compassion and expertise.

Show and Tell

Some kids love to ask questions. Others may feel shy or nervous. We take time to understand your child’s unique personality and start each visit with a friendly conversation. We explain each step before we begin so they know exactly what to expect, helping them feel safe and supported.

Gentle Examination

We’ll carefully examine your child’s teeth, gums, tongue, and overall oral development. We monitor the progress of both baby and adult teeth, identify any areas that need extra care, and provide feedback for both kids and parents.

Keeping you in the loop

After each appointment, we provide helpful advice for at home care and discuss any areas we’ll be monitoring moving forward. Whether it’s brushing tips or identifying early signs of trouble, we work closely with parents or guardians to keep your child’s smile on track.

Contact us today

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry focused on treating infants, children, and teens. These dentists have special training to manage the changes a child’s mouth goes through as they grow.

Your child’s first visit should be around their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Early visits help detect issues before they become serious.

Pediatric dentists typically care for patients from infancy up to 18 years of age. Once a child reaches adulthood, they usually transition to a general dentist.

Just like adults, children should generally see the dentist every six months. Some children may benefit from visits every three or four months depending on their oral health needs. If your child is experiencing discomfort, do not wait. Schedule a visit as soon as possible.

Very good place to get your teeth done! I just got my wisdom teeth removed and it didn’t hurt at all (they have those numbing cream before anesthesia!!! Just ask for it!) The staff were very kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. They also offer free teeth cleaning under the CDCP, which is amazing. Highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for great dental care!

Amazing experience at this dental clinic. The front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the dentist and dental assistant were incredibly kind and professional. The exam was very thorough, and even the X-rays were taken carefully and attentively. I asked a lot of questions and they were always patient, explaining everything clearly. Highly recommend!

Tina is an amazing dentist. She’s honest, logical and direct. It might be hard to digest the procedure and cost but well worth it when your mouth still has its original set of teeth, 5-10-20 plus years into the investment. She not only took care of my current issues but also saved my teeth from future no teeth issue. Be patient, Be Kind because she truely is a gem once she sorts out your mouth issues. Also listen to her advice she is the subject matter expert for your mouth.
